Main research foci

Recent research focuses on the Austrian political system as well as on comparative politics, mainly the fields of political parties, political financing, political corruption, and local politics. During the 1990s, also transport policy represented a main research topic.

The book “Politikfinanzierung in Österreich” (political finance in Austria), Vienna: Czernin Publishers, 2009 was awarded by the “Wissenschaftspreis der Margaretha Lupac Stiftung für Parlamentarismus 2009” (Margaretha Lupac Foundation for Parliamentarism, Academic Award 2009)

Memberships:

• Austrian Political Science Association: Member of the executive board 2000-2003 (2002/2003 as deputy chairperson).
• 2000-2009 member of the Editorial Board, 2010-2014 of the Managing Editorial Board of the Austrian Journal of Political Science.
• Transparency International – Austrian Chapter: Deputy President of the Advisory Council since 2005.
• Chairman of the Advisory Council of Forum Informationsfreiheit.
